random musical theatre entry

friends, as you may but probably do not know, i loves me some musical theater. like, love love. like know all the words to all the songs to more musicals than i care to admit right now love. so of course when i realized that Broadway: The American Musical was available on Netflix streaming, i ate that shit right up.

so of course my main man BOB FOSSE featured heavily in the series.

oh my goodness! he IS! how Russian! (even though he's not Russian, just Irish/Norwegian)

Sweet Charity, as a musical, and a film, kind of sucks, but there are some pretty awesome parts. like the dancers' styling. look at this hair! i want to be these women. also these two dance sequences are totally amazing.

remember when Taye Diggs was in Rent?

once when i was in high school, i went on a school trip to New York. it was awesome, especially the times they gave us like two hours to get lunch and let us run amok. once Dave and Legs and i crashed an art opening at a SUNY, or a CCNY, and once we all also hoofed it like 20 blocks to make it to the Moondance, because of course as someone who was graduating high school in 1999 and planning on moving to New York to be an actress, she was wayyyy into Jonathan Larson. everyone kinda didn't believe her, but it's fucking 11 years later, and she makes a living doing what she loves. it's awesome.

speaking of TV and movie stars on Broadway, is that Jerry Orbach?
